Certification

Currently in South Africa there is unfortunately no accredited certification towards becoming a registered Gunsmith.  The testing facilities were closed down, and no new avenue of learnership or qualification was presented by any of the governing bodies at the time.

However, seasoned Gunsmiths have been engaging with relevant stakeholders and governing bodies for many years now, compiling a new curriculum and avenues of learnership and testing for interested individuals.  The process has been tedious, and some testing of it has been attempted, but we are still working towards finalising all the steps and receiving approval and recognition from SAPS, CFR, PFTC and all other stakeholders involved.
